The path towards personal excellence requires effort and sacrifice, but it's extremely rewarding. The support and guidance of Tim at GOAT Sports Performance has been a huge asset in this exciting process of becoming the best athlete I can be both on and off the court. Maria Renee Rodríguez Racquetball Professional and International Athlete
I've worked and trained with Tim for over 10 years. As a former competitive bodybuilder I can attest to his knowledge of sports performance. Tim's broad information base can assist a wide array of athletes; from the elite competitor to the weekend warrior. I credit Tim for keeping my motivation level high even after 20 years of hard core training in the gym. Dr. Anthony Parish Sports Scientist and Former Competitive Bodybuilder
What I love about Dr. Baghurst’s philosophy is that he understands that not all coaches and athletes are alike, and they sometimes need individualized assistance to be more successful. A single coach can’t always know everything necessary to best help an athlete. There’s definitely a need for GOAT Sports! Chris McNeil Former Division I Championship Winning Wrestler
Tim has been a friend and colleague for several years. Sharing a love for sport has been paramount to our relationship. It is exciting to see him offer his services to Coaches, Athletes, and Sports Administrators through GOAT Sports Performance. The question is "How can his services help?" Tim has always had a desire to make Sport better. Coaches, Athletes, and Other Sports Professionals who choose to work with Tim will be motivated and challenged in a positive environment to improve and excel in their Sport. As a collegiate baseball player, I had the luxury of taking several undergraduate and graduate classes taught by Dr. Baghurst. During these courses, I was able to learn different breathing techniques to battle stress and anxiety as well as working out and nutrition regiments to better prepare myself physically. His individualized techniques allowed for me to become a better baseball player and now a better coach.
I'm constantly in contact with Dr. Baghurst about ways to help my athletes improve their performance. These techniques are evident in the designing of specific practice plans, daily routines, and workout programs that have improved the overall play and skill level of each of my athletes. When working with parents, I still use his book “Case Studies in Coaching, Dilemmas and Ethics in Competitive School Sports.” His book has allowed me to be able to relax and take a more proactive response to possible issues rather than being reactive. While responding to issues, I am now able to consider all options rather than just jumping to a conclusion.
I strongly believe my career as an athlete and coach wouldn't be possible without the help and education from Dr. Baghurst. Robert Gilbert High School Baseball Coach, Instructor for the Houston Astros Youth Academy
Dr. Baghurst possesses the academic and athletic experience to really understand how to help. His knowledge of psychology in sport in particular has changed the way I train and compete. Jaime Martell Racquetball Professional
Tim is a colleague and a friend. We work together in the domains of teaching, coaching, and broadcasting. He has a vast knowledge base in many disciplines; and, he is not resting on his laurels. Those wanting to build their resume will be well served to work with Tim. Gary Mazaroff Hall of Fame Inductee & Rules and Officials Commissioner, International Racquetball Federation
I have known and worked with Tim for many years which included working together on a sports nutrition book for youth coaches. Tim knows what it takes to fuel athletes for training and competition. He also knows how to physically and mentally take athletes to the next level. However, one of his greatest strengths is his ability convey this knowledge to coaches who work with athletes.
